Esophageal Institute of Atlanta is the only medical/surgical practice in Atlanta focused primarily on the diagnosis and treatment of esophageal conditions and upper intestinal conditions. Founded by Dr. C. Daniel Smith, an internationally recognized expert in gastrointestinal surgery, the Esophageal Institute of Atlanta brings together the expertise of gastroenterologists, surgeons, ENTs and pulmonologists to provide integrated and comprehensive testing and treatment for all conditions of the upper intestines.
Dr. Smith has been in practice in the Southeast for over 25 years caring for patients during his time as the Chief of gastrointestinal surgery at Emory University School of Medicine and Surgeon-in-Chief at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Florida. During this time he has developed an extensive network of colleagues throughout the Southeast, all of whom collaborate with Dr. Smith and others working out of the Esophageal Institute of Atlanta, to help patients understand their condition and through the expertise of the members of EIA achieve the best outcomes of care possible.
